Telephonics Core Products include a variety of analog and digital communication management systems designed to address a variety of platform requirements. These products also include a number of custom systems based on key Telephonics' intercommunication system technology that were developed to meet the unique requirements of specific platforms. Central to these core products are the STARCOM and TCOMSS systems. STARCOM is an analog intercom system that is scalable and configurable to applications varying from transport helicopters, to UAV operational shelters, and Air Cushion Landing Craft. TCOMSS is a fully digital system with extended functionality and user capabilities. Initially developed for large scale applications such as ISR aircraft, TCOMSS' flexibility and scalability have allowed its adaptation to new applications such as the U.S. Navy's MH-60R and MH-60S helicopters. MMH is an application of the TCOMSS system developed to support the U.S. Navy MH-60R LAMPS and MH-60S Knighthawk helicopters. These helicopters are designed for deployment on a variety of ships to perform missions including Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASUW), Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Insertion, Search and Rescue (SAR), Vertical Replenishment (VERTREP), and Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC). TCOMSS was selected for the MMH application due to its design flexibility and ability to support unique requirements, including the distribution of wideband audio associated with the specialized mission systems such aslike the Sonobuoy receivers and dipping sonar equipping these platforms. Other changes form the baseline TCOMSS configuration for MMH include new user interface panels designed to accommodate the system/subsystem configurations of each platform. These devices are referred to as the Operator Control Panel (OCP) and the Crew Station (CSC). TCOMSS flexibility was also used to implement different subsystem configurations for the MH-60R and MH-60S that reflect their unique crew complements and mission requirements.
