The General Purpose Computer (GPC)-1000 unit can serve in one of four roles: (1) as the voting plane in redundant flight control architecture, (2) it can be an I/O data concentrator, (3) it can function as the mission computer or (4) it can provide flight controls/autopilots to an application. The GPC-1000 accepts the state-vector output from one or more Athena INS/GPS products, closes the autopilot control loop, performs the voting logic and sends the control commands to actuators. These include primary flight controls, stability augmentation flight controls, engine controls, and other subcomponent controls. Key Features & Benefits *Supports Triplex, Dual and Simplex flight control architectures *Supports single or multiple servo-control channels per GPC-1000 *Contains a CPU that supports communication with all installed INS/GPS and its designated servo-control channels *CPU also supports any voting functions allocated to the unit in the target architecture Specifications: Size 16 x 13 x 7.6 cm (6.3 x 5.1 x 3 in) Weight 0.91 kg (2.0 lbs) Update rate Servo update rate ? 50 Hz Flash memory Capable of supporting 512 MB Enclosure Aluminum Power ? 8 W @ 28 VDC under nominal conditions; no loads Differential analog inputs 8 Differential analog inputs The analog inputs support voltage levels of -9.02 VDC to + 10 VDC Configurable to support analog input voltage ranges within the maximum -9.02 V to + 10 V range on a per channel basis The analog inputs are converted with a resolution of minimum 11 bits General purpose discrete inputs Up to 16 General purpose discrete inputs Supports pulse-width modulated (PWM) operation 28 V tolerant Default low or default high; configurable at the time of PCA manufacture VIL ? 0.8 VDC VIH ? 3.5 VDC 5 V or 28 V nominal; input voltage levels are configurable at the time of PCA manufacture Dedicated discrete inputs 6 Dedicated discrete inputs support two UID bits, one SW_EN bit, and three health bits Supports VIL ? 0.8 VDC Supports VIH ? 3.5 VDC Differential discrete inputs 1 Discrete input driven at RS-422 levels, 2 pins Supports PWM operation Analog outputs 1analog output Voltage range is -10 V to + 10 V (configurable ranges) Current capability is ? 20 mA Reference voltage output for analog inputs 1 analog reference voltage output General purpose discrete outputs Up to 14 General purpose discrete outputs Outputs are individually selectable, via jumpers at the time of PCA manufacture, to supply either 5 VDC, or 28 VDC nominal VOL ? 0.8 VDC unloaded; ? 1.5 V with 200 mA load VOH ? 3.5 VDC when the 5 V strapping option is selected VOH ? 16.0 VDC when the 28 V strapping option is selected Each of the 11 outputs are capable of PWM operation Each of the 11 outputs are driven by a tri-state device, individually controlled by hardware logic Health bit discrete outputs 3 Discrete outputs dedicated for the output of unit health bit information.
